As a Senior Manager, Tax Services, Heather is responsible for managing the tax department as well as tax preparation and review, and providing ongoing tax advice to our clients. She has extensive experience in individual and corporate tax matters and draws on her leadership skills to train, manage and mentor the tax team. She possesses the rare combination of having strong project management and organizational skills coupled with a deep desire to delight clients. Heather is passionate about getting to know each client personally and understanding their goals and values to provide an exceptional client service experience while seeking to deliver expert tax services. Heather also serves on our Her Wealth® Executive Committee and as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council member.
Heather served as the Tax Manager at Bridgewater Wealth & Financial Management prior to merging with The Colony Group in early 2018. She was also the Tax Manager at Discovery Communications, a Senior Tax Associate at Washington Gas Light Company, and a Senior Tax Accountant at Ernst & Young.
Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and International Business from Pennsylvania State University. She is a licensed CPA in Maryland.
Outside of the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, serving her community through outreach ministries at her church and by counseling others to become better stewards of their finances.
