Richard is a Portfolio Manager at The Colony Group and brings over 30 years of industry experience managing client portfolios, conducting economic research, and analyzing equity and bond securities.
Richard served as Senior Vice President at Capital Advisors, LLC prior to their merger with The Colony Group in 2021. Previously, Richard was Vice President and an Investment Officer at First Financial Trust, N.A a nationally chartered trust bank located in Newton, Massachusetts. While at First Financial Trust, Rich chaired the firm’s investment committee, served as senior economist, and managed approximately $100 million in client assets. He also built and managed a multi asset investment strategy with a demonstrated track record of excellent investment performance. In 2010, Rich was named a Five Star Wealth Manager by Boston Magazine.
Prior to joining First Financial Trust, Richard founded and managed Generic Trading of Philadelphia, LLC, a professional trading office. From 1987 to 1995, Richard served as an Equity Specialist for Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. on the floor of the Boston Stock Exchange.
Richard earned his Master of Science degree in Investment Management from Boston University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Tufts University. He is a member of the CFA Institute and Boston Security Analysts Society.
In his spare time, Richard is a father of four children and is very active in the Canton community. He has served on the Finance Committee for the Sage School in Foxboro and was a member of the Galvin Middle School Council. He was a member of Temple Beth Abraham’s Brotherhood and a member of the Wellesley Rotary.
Five Star Professional criteria: Credentialed as an IAR, FINRA-registered rep, a CPA, or a licensed attorney; at least five years in the financial services industry; favorable regulatory and complaint history review; meeting firm’s review standards; accepting new clients; one and five-year retention rates; assets administered; number of households served; and education and professional designations.
